Skip the cans and packets! Sloppy Joes are a childhood favorite, and so easy to make at home. This recipe uses common pantry staples, is quick and easy to throw together, and will be a hit with the whole family.

Sloppy Joes

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 Small Onion Diced
  • 1 ½ lbs Ground Beef
  • 1 ½ Cups Ketchup
  • ¼ Cup Water
  • ½ Tbsp White Vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp Sugar
  • ¾ Tbsp Yellow Mustard
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • tsp Black Pepper
  • tsp Paprika

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat. Sauté onion for 5-8 minutes, or until soft and translucent.
  • Add beef, and cook until browned.
  • Meanwhile, in a medium bowl combine ketchup, water, vinegar, sugar, mustard, salt, pepper, and paprika. Whisk until smooth.
  • Once beef is thoroughly cooked, drain any excess fat and add ketchup mixture to cooked meat. Stir and bring to a simmer.
  • Reduce heat to low, cover and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve on toasted hamburger buns and enjoy!
