Quick and Easy Hamburger Buns

These buns truly are quick and easy! They rise while you pre-heat your oven, which makes them perfect to throw together if you forget buns at the store or if you need a quick dinner.

Quick and Easy Hamburger Buns

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ Tbsp Active Dry Yeast
  • 1 Cup Warm Water
  • Cup Olive Oil
  • 2 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 3 ¼ Cup Flour

Instructions
 

  • Add yeast, water, oil, and sugar to bowl of a stand mixer. Stir briefly with a spoon and let sit for 5 minutes, until yeast is bubbly.
  • Add egg, salt, and flour to bowl and mix with dough hook starting on low speed and increasing medium once ingredients are combined. Mix on medium speed for 3-5 minutes until dough is smooth and elastic. *Dough will be slightly sticky
  • Transfer dough onto lightly floured surface and shape into a disk. Divide into 8 even pieces, then shape those pieces into balls. Flatten slightly and place on parchment lined baking sheet.
  • Cover with a towel and let rest for 20-40 minutes while pre-heating your oven to 425 °F
  • Bake, uncovered for 10-12 minutes. Let cool before slicing.

Notes

These buns will proof very quickly, so be sure to keep an eye on them. If they are over proofed, they will fall flat while baking. They truly only need to rise long enough for you oven to pre-heat, which is what makes them so wonderful!
