This is a simple chili recipe that will make your family think you stood over the hot stove all day to get it in their bowls! You can use a store bought chili seasoning, but I strongly suggest using my homemade chili seasoning for an amazing fresh flavor.
Farmhouse Chili
Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
- 2 Tbsp Chili Seasoning
- 1 tsp Dried Oregano
- 1 ½ tsp Cocoa Powder
- ½ White or Yellow Onion Diced
- 1 ½ lbs Ground Beef or Turkey
- 1 6 oz Can Tomato Paste
- 2 15 oz Cans Fire Roasted Tomatoes Undrained
- 1 15 oz Can Pinto Beans Drained
Instructions
- Add oil to large pot or Dutch Oven over medium heat and warm until shimmering. Add onion and cook until translucent and soft. Add ground beef and crumble while cooking. Cook thoroughly until browned.
- To Dutch oven, add chili seasoning, cocoa powder, tomato paste, fire roasted tomatoes, and pinto beans. Bring to a boil.
- Once boiling, reduce heat to a simmer and cover. Cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve immediately and top with sour cream, cheese, or other toppings of your choice.
