Sharing food is the best way to create memories.

Easter is at the top of my list of favorite holidays. It means spring; it means new beginnings; it means gathering around a table full of family and friends and laughing the day away over some of the most delicious food. Our table was always covered in sides such as mashed potatoes, macaroni salad, baked beans, a green salad, and rolls, then right in the center was the star of the show. The ham. My grandma would be up bright and early getting that ham ready, and it never disappointed. Ever.

Hold still for a minute and take a deep breath in. Can you smell that sweet lingering smell of a brown sugar ham? Search your memories and I bet it’s there. Using a pressure cooker is the best way to get your holiday ham on the table quickly without sacrificing taste. A pressure cooker is an excellent way to cook meat in a hurry without making it tough and chewy! Putting your pressure cooker to good use this Easter will give you time to focus on other things, while giving your ham that slow, cooked all day taste.

The Pampered Chef Multi Cooker

The Deluxe Multi Cooker from Pampered Chef is the Cadillac of pressure cookers. It comes with 16 settings from sous vide, to pressure cook, and slow cook just to name a few. Just a touch of a button puts you in control of your meals, and gives you piece of mind that dinner will be taken care of. It is beautiful, holds 6 quarts, and the inner pot is dishwasher safe! The Multi Cooker also has enhanced safety features like cool to the touch sides (this is my FAVORITE feature with littles running around the house) and a one touch steam release button. If this sounds like something you need in your life (you do, trust me!) you can learn more about the Deluxe Multi Cooker here http://tiny.cc/multicooker.

The Easter Ham

Pampered Chef partnered with Rosalynn Daniels and she put together a mouth watering brown sugar ham recipe that I really encourage you to try this year! I know I will be. With just five simple, yet delicious ingredients, paired with the technology of the Multi Cooker, your table will be the place to be.

The Ingredients

  • 5-7 pound Spiral Sliced Ham (bone in or bone out)
  • 2 Tbs Dijon Mustard
  • 1 C Cola
  • 2 C Pineapple Juice
  • 2 C Brown Sugar

The Instructions

  • Before starting, make sure your ham can fit in your Multi Cooker, meat side down. You may need to trim down the sides to make it fit.
  • Before placing your ham in the pot, brush a layer of dijon mustard all over the ham.
  • Place the ham into the Pampered Chef Multi Cooker http://tiny.cc/multicooker
  • Pour pineapple juice and cola over the ham
  • Sprinkle brown sugar over the ham so that it covers as much of the ham as possible
  • Place lid on the Multi Cooker and close. Make sure the pressure gauge is closed.
  • Set the Multi Cooker to high pressure and cook for 8 minutes.
  • Once done, let the pressure naturally release. You can press the pressure release button and manually release the pressure, just be sure you have a towel ready to help with excess steam.
  • You can strain the liquid from the inner pot of the Multi Cooker to make gravy is you wish.

However you choose to prepare your ham this Sunday, I hope it is delicious and I hope your day is filled of memory making moments!
