Creamy Gruyere Chicken

This chicken dish served over egg noodles needs to be added to the comfort food list asap! Eat it right away or freeze it before baking and have an amazing freezer meal.

Creamy Gruyere Chicken

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb Chicken Breast Cut into bite sized pieces
  • 3 Tbsp Butter
  • 2 Tbsp Flour
  • 1 Cup Grated Parmesan
  • ½ Cup Grated Gruyere Cheese
  • ½ Cup Bread Crumbs
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Pre-heat oven to 350 °F
  • Sprinkle ½ of parmesan on bottom of baking dish. Season chicken pieces with salt and pepper. In large skillet, melt butter over medium heat and brown chicken. Transfer chicken to baking dish.
  • To the same frying pan, add flour to the pan drippings. Cook for 2 minutes, then gradually add milk while whisking. Continue to stir until smooth and thickened.
  • Remove from heat and stir in gruyere cheese until smooth and melted. Pour over chicken and top with remaining parmesan and bread crumbs.
  • Bake for 35-45 min and serve over egg noodles.
