If you are looking for a quick and oh so delicious side for pizza night pasta night, here it is! I developed this recipe after my oldest daughter fell in love with a pizza chain’s parmesan knots and we were cutting take out out of our budget and our diets. These little buttery parmesan bread bites were the one thing she asked for, so being the mom I am, I had to figure out how to make them for her.
Garlic Parmesan Knots
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Warm Water
- 1 ½ tsp Salt
- 1 ½ tsp Active Dry Yeast
- 2 ½ Cup Flour
- 2 Tbsp Butter
- ½ tsp Garlic Powder
- ¼ tsp Basil
- ¼ tsp Oregano
- ¼ Cup Shredded Parmesan
Instructions
- Add warm water and yeast to the bowl of a stand mixer and let sit until bubbly, about 5 minutes.
- Add half of flour to the yeast mixture and mix with dough hook until combined. Add remaining flour and salt then knead until smooth. Shape dough into a ball and cover bowl with clean towel. Let dough rest for at least 10 minutes but up to 20.
- Preheat oven to 400 °F
- In a small bowl, melt butter then add garlic powder, basil, and oregano. Mix together and set aside.
- Remove dough from bowl and divide into 10 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a rope and tie into a "knot". Place on a greased baking sheet and repeat until all dough is shaped and on baking sheet.
- Brush butter mixture over each knot and sprinkle parmesan cheese over the top.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until lightly browned. Serve warm and enjoy!
