I grew up in the Hamburger Helper era and honestly… I love Hamburger Helper. What I don’t love is the laundry list of preservatives and fillers in those handy little boxes. This has led me to be quite the fan of the copycats, and this Stroganoff copycat is no exception.
Hamburger Helper Stroganoff Copycat
Ingredients
- 1 lb Ground Beef
- 1 Tbsp Corn Starch
- 1 ½ tsp Salt
- ½ tsp Black Pepper
- 2 tsp Soy Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Parsley
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 2 ¼ Cup Milk
- 1 ½ Cup Beef Broth
- 8 oz Pasta Egg Noodles work best
- ½ Cup Sour Cream
Instructions
- In a deep sided skillet over medium-high heat, thoroughly cook your ground beef. Drain any grease.
- Add salt, pepper, cornstarch, soy sauce, parsley, and garlic powder to skillet and meat, and mix.
- Add milk and beef broth to the skillet and mix to combine. Add noodles and stir until pasta is mostly covered with liquid.
- Cover skillet and bring to a boil over medium- high heat, stirring occasionally. Once mixture reaches a boil, reduce heat to medium and simmer for 10-12 minutes (until noodles are cooked through) while stirring occasionally.
- Once pasta is cooked through, add sour cream to skillet and mix well. Cook an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through. Remove from heat and enjoy!
